Mediation is a process where both parties agree to appoint a mediator to facilitate a process where the parties can reach their own agreement.
This process is voluntary and any agreement reached is mutual. Nobody is imposing a decision on the parties.
Most disputes settle at mediation before a court trial and Steve Alexander has experience from hundreds of mediations to help draw the parties together to reach agreement.
Many mediations today are held very late in the dispute process after all of the time and cost for trial preparation has been incurred. Mediation should be a process that is undertaken sufficiently early to avoid substantive trial preparation costs.
